Abstract

It is well known that neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s are progressive, gradually involving new parts of the brain and causing increased symptoms for the patient. The talk will show how we now start to understand the cellular mechanisms behind why the neurons of the brain becomes sick and how the diseases can propagate.

Spoiler; Key points will include small aggregates of misfolded proteins, degradative systems, exosomes and new potential drug targets
